Off to Delaware
And we are off! We left later at night so we would miss traffic as well as get into our destination earlier. However, seeing as how I didn't plan our destination our properly, it's only open on Friday-Sunday and we left on a Wednesday, we now had LOTS of time on our hands! Exploring Amish Country and touring around PA for a while didn't seem so difficult.
We ate breakfast at Perkins and woke up to the grouchy service of a 60 year old woman who really wants to retire. Enh... it was breakfast.
My boys pancakes were bigger than his head and I think he ate them all...
"FOOD IS GOOD!"
You see, I started out the trip being all gungho naturalist. No junk food driving for us! So after we'd had our fill on granola and pretzals w/ hummus... pancakes and sausage sounded really good!!
We made it to Delaware later in the day Thursday and got to the beachhouse early enough to enjoy a FREAK THUNDERSTORM! It torrential rained on us harder than we thought possible... all while I was going to get the video camera too! I was dry one second and drenched, blowing in the air, afraid for my life the next.
Well... maybe it wasn't THAT bad... but it was a crazy storm.
Nightly bonfires, amazing dinners, great friends, and a wonderful wedding of my cousin... Delaware was a blast!
We stayed at the beach for a week and found all kinds of amazing treasures.
Friends and finds :)
